Wayne S Woody

Wayne S. Woody, age 67, a resident of McDonald, passed away Friday, December 1, 2006, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was employed as an asbestos worker with Local Union #46 for 33 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was an ordained deacon for 26 years. He was the son of the late James and Blanche Woody and was also preceded in death by his brothers: Henry Woody, Lynn Woody, E. J. Woody. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rebecca Woody of McDonald; two sons: Mark Woody and his wife Wendy of Apison, and Tim Woody and his wife Janet of McDonald; five grandchildren: Jennifer, Amber, Blake, Micah and Rebekah Woody; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lena Earls of Cleveland, Pricilla and Scott Clark, Irene and Claude Swatzell, and Holly Carter, all of Greenville, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Mary Sue Woody, Gary and Geraldine Woody, all of Dayton, Dan Woody of Georgetown, and Paul Woody of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Woody and Pastor Mark Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery with the release of a flock of white doves. Wayne Hindman, Jeff Price, Justin Kennedy, Charles Carol, Kevin Shelton, Aaron David, David Holley and Jerry Lance will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 1 ? 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
