Bobby James Daugherty, age 68, of Birchwood went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday evening, December 1, 2006 in a Cleveland hospital. He was a member of Burdette Baptist Church. He was retired from Charleston Hosiery Mills with thirty six years of service. He loved making a garden to share with his friends and also loved camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie James and Florence Fine Daugherty; a brother Charles Daugherty and his wife, Pauline Daugherty. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years Margie Burton Daugherty of Birchwood; his sister, Margaret Lane; a nephew, Raymond Lane, Jr. and his wife, Pam Lane; a niece, Annette Wilcoxon and her husband, Ronald Wilcoxon; two great nephews, William "Robby" Lane and Matthew Wilcoxon all of Birchwood; one great great niece, Gabrielle Bailey of Cleveland; several aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of wonderful friends too many to mention; to know him was to love him. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Burdette Baptist Church with Pastor David Evans and Reverend Ray Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in McInturff Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Danny Elliott, Tommy Davis, Bryan Dixon, Jim Hayes, Landy Bolen and Frankie Baker will serve as pallbearers. Bud Stokes and Harry Collins will serve as honorary pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and also from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday at Burdette Baptist Church prior to the service.
