R Melvin

T.R. Melvin, age 88, a resident of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, December 05, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of the Walker Valley Baptist Church. He was retired from Bowater after 27 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II. Mr. Melvin was the son of the late Efphriam Posey Melvin and Martha Jane Baker Melvin and was also preceded in death by his wife, Marcelle Melvin and a sister, Alta Morris. He is survived by his four children and spouses: Wayne and Gloria Melvin of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Jane and Delmar Crisp of Calhoun, Tennessee, Richard and Judy Melvin of Cleveland, Tennessee and Jeff and Linda Melvin of Lawrenceville, Georgia; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Della Scott of Live Oak, Florida. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Bryan Crisp officiating. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
