John D Goins

John D. Goins, age 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in a local hospital. He was a member of the Waterville Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was also a member of the American Legion Post 81. He was employed with Shaw Industries as an accountant. Mr. Goins was the son of the late Edward and Jessie Lemons Goins and was also preceded in death by his wife, Emma Goins; three brothers, Jack Goins, Carl Goins and Bill Goins; one sister, Martha Goins. He is survived by his three children: Regenia Long of Cleveland, Paula Bensimon of Panama City, Florida and Marlene Ganan of Gastonia, North Carolina; five grandchildren: Cindy Hilbert, Vicky Cook, Chrissy Gladson, Joshua Wilson and John Wilson; six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the Chilcutt Cemetery with Frank Reece officiating. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
