Christopher Howard Floyd, age 35, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 at his residence. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School and a graduate of Cleveland State Community College. While in school he was on the tennis team and swim team. He was enrolled at Lee University pursing a degree in special education and was employed by Cherokee Pharmacy for almost 15 years. He was preceded in death by his niece, Haley Jones. He is survived by his mother and step father, Sue and Adrian Strother of Cleveland and his father and step mother, Jim and Melba Floyd of Cleveland; half brother, Ryan Strother of Cleveland; one step brother, Kris Jones of Cleveland; paternal grandparents, U.H. and Marie Floyd of Sylacauga, Alabama; two nieces, Hannah Jones and Riley Jones; special friends, Dale and Kelly Geyer of Cleveland. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Strother, Kelly Geyer, David Scannapiego and Rick Forshee. His family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
