Nellie G. Murray, age 96, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007 in a local hospital. She was the oldest and longest active member of the New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the manager of Randolph?s Store on Inman Street for twenty years and also worked for Wal-Mart for fifteen years. She was the daughter of the late James Alfred Gentry and Addie Raines Gentry and was also preceded in death by her husband, John C. Murray; three brothers, Jack Gentry, Fred Gentry and Reverend John Gentry; two sisters, Mary Ruth Horn and Anna Belle Hibben. Survivors include her daughter, Patsy M. Bivens of Cleveland; two grandchildren: Alex Bivens of Hixson and Michelle Geraldson of Soddy Daisy; one great-grandchild, Alexis Bivens; one brother, Reverend R.L. "Pete" Gentry of Cleveland; special friend and caregiver, Ronald W. Frady; special nephew, Vaughn Horn of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Hullander and Reverend Sam Melton officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Garland Murray, Carroll Guhne, Rex Wagner, Lawrence Gentry, Tony Gentry and Vaughn Horn serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
