William Clarence "Stitch" Parker, age 76, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, February 23, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired deputy sheriff of Bradley County. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Trinity Lodge # 694. He was a self employed manufacturer of furniture. Mr. Parker was the son of the late Chester Parker and Selma Tatum Parker and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Ellen Parker. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Parker of Cleveland; two sisters: Beatrice Lusk of Chattanooga and Doris Matthews and husband, Howard of Chattanooga; special brother-in-law, Paul Thomas and wife, Wilma Thomas of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Moncrief officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Jimmy Nolen, Justin Nolen, Mark Matthews, Rodney Smith, Ryan Smith and Chad Smith will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
