Robert Walton Hyland

Robert Walton Hyland, Sr., 65, a resident of Cleveland passed away Friday morning March 2, 2007 at his home. He was a graduate of Murray State University. He retired from Olin Corporation after 36 years of service both at the Charleston and Doe Run plant in Kentucky. He was a Life Member of The Alumni Association and Fellow of the University of Kentucky. He enjoyed golfing in Cleveland and Naples, Florida. He attended Broad Street United Methodist Church. He was born on September 17, 1941 in Fulton, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Robert Hyland, his brother, Dr. John Hyland and his sister, Jean Ann Hyland. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Lynn Bushart Hyland, his daughter, Sara Hyland Tentler and her husband Ralph Tentler, his son, Robert Walton Hyland, Jr and his fiancée Cheryl Burr Stanger. He is survived by his grandchildren, Robert Cooper Tentler and Callahan Grace Tentler all of Cleveland, his sister Catherine Hyland Williams and her husband Douglas Williams of Brentwood, Tennessee; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Susan and Richard Cardwell of Naples, Florida, Ward and Nelda Bushart of Fulton, Kentucky, Tom Bushart of Lexington, Kentucky and Mrs. Edwina Hyland of Owensboro, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Reverend Andy Ferguson and Reverend Debbie Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony. Pallbearers will be Paul Hyland, Phil Hyland, Mark Hyland, Chris Hyland, Steve Hyland, Scott Hyland, Hayden Williams and David Hyland. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Cardwell, Ward Bushart, Tom Bushart, Doug Williams, Rick Cardwell, Ward Bushart III and Dan Foreman. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and also from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Broad Street United Methodist Church prior to the service.
