Johnny Sorrells

Johnny "Mac" Sorrells, age 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, March 17, 2007, at his home. He was a faithful member of his loving and supportive church, Meadowview Baptist Church. Johnny was an avid hunter until his debilitating stroke 10 ½ years ago. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was retired from Olin Corporation. Johnny was preceded in death by his mother and father, Louise and Thomas Oliver Sorrells and sister, Judy Oliver. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Janey; his son, whom he loved so much, John McKenzie Sorrells, and the "light of his life", his granddaughter, Maryann; bother and sister-in-law, Tommy and June Sorrells; sister, Terry Majors; sister-in-law, Sandy Carney and husband Dr. Bob Carney; sister ?in-law, Joyce Bohnsdahl and husband Bruce; brother ?in-law, Buddy Bell and wife Barbara; brother-in-law, Bill Oliver; nieces: Mary Lou O?Hern, Ann Harmon and Molly Watson; nephew, Matt Majors and Johnny?s "Two Angels from Florida", niece, Pam Tummond and great niece, Christy Keen. Johnny was such an inspiration to all who knew and loved him and he will be missed. He loved his Lord, his family and his church. He was at church whenever possible to listen to our wonderful choir and his very good friend, Pastor Al Miller. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Meadowview Baptist Church, 10715 Ooltewah-Georgetown Rd., Georgetown, TN, with Pastor Al Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. with the service following at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Meadowview Baptist Church building fund.
