Ida Melinda Forgey, age 96, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2007, at a local hospital. She was the oldest living member of East Cleveland Baptist Church. Her parents were the late Jim Cates and Laura Robison Cates. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ambers Forgey; sons: Lake Forgey, Clyde Forgey, Donald Forgey and Billy Forgey. She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Brewer Holder of Cleveland; three sons and daughters-in-law: Rev. Charles and Margie Forgey, Rev.. James and Gladys Forgey all of Cleveland and LeRoy and Agnes Forgey of Pikeville; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law: Wanda Forgey and Retha Forgey both of Cleveland; one niece, Doris Cope of Warren, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend William Curtis and Reverend Roger Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery. The service will conclude with the white dove release ceremony. Gary Forgey, Troy Forgey, Derrick Forgey, Steve Forgey, Greg Forgey and Ray Forgey will be serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
