Nathan Hawkins, age 81, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at a local hospital. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Hawkins retired from Magic Chef after 25 years of employment. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in World War II in the European Theater. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lena Pritchett Hawkins and two brothers: Robert Lee Hawkins and C.L. Hawkins. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Hawkins of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Allan Hawkins and wife, Wyvonna of Byron, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Marcella Hawkins Womac and husband, Danny of Cleveland; 3 grandchildren: Tiffanie Cryer and husband, Justin, Daniel Womac and wife, Amber and Amanda Hamby and husband, Travis; 4 great grandchildren: Kaylynn Hamby, Andrew Womac, Dylan Womac and Wynter Hamby; 3 sisters; Willie Mae Kibble, Hazel Ownby and Lillian Stuart all of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Frank Redman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Eddie Carroll, Tom Carroll, Ted Hawkins, Dewayne Stuart, Ricky Stuart and Travis Hamby will be servings as pallbearers.
