John E Ross

August 11, 1944 — March 30, 2007

John E. Ross, 62, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday evening, March 30, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Ross was employed with Cleveland Chair Company for twenty years. He was a very dedicated member of Westwood Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and a discipleship teacher. He was also an avid fisherman. His parents, Ezra and Mildred Raines Ross, preceded him in death as well as a sister, Lillian Miller. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Ross of Cleveland; one son, Major Jason Ross, who is serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in Iraq, and his wife Cherry Ross; one grandson, Jason Ross, Jr.; six brothers: Reverend Donald Ross of Dayton, Jimmy Ross of Sorrento, FL, Robert Ross of Grandview, TX, David Ross of Lebanon, VA, Randall Ross of Huntingdon, and Michael Ross of Old Fort; four sisters: Carolyn Poole of Little Elm, TX, Irene Ross of Apopka, FL, Arlene Schuller of Garland, TX, and Sharon O?Donnell of Ocoee; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Connie Frerichs of Tellico Plains; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Labron and Robin Frerichs of Benton, and Deneen and Barry Walden of Niota; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood and Pastor Steve Best officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Ironsburg Cemetery in Tellico Plains with David Dorset, Keith Gombash, John Miles, Scott Peterson, Manuel Smith and David Owenby serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Kevin Johnson and Nate Taylor.
