Wade C. Goode, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007 at his residence. He attended Oak Grove School and Bradley Central High School. He received his B.S. Degree from Lee College and his Master?s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was a retired school teacher with the Cleveland City Schools System and was a member of the Bradley/Cleveland Retired Teachers Association. Mr. Goode was a veteran of World War II where he served in the USMC from 1942-1945; US Army Air Corps from 1945-1947 and then served sixteen years in the USAF from 1947-1964. He was a past state chaplain of the DAV for three years. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a member of the Union Grove Church of Christ where he was a former Bible study teacher. Mr. Goode was the son of the late Calvin and Lela Finnell Goode and was also preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Christina Geren Goode and his brother, Joe Goode. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Vicki and Rick Hannah of Cleveland; one granddaughter, Angie Lingerfelt and husband, Keith; two step-grandchildren: Paige and Brandon Hannah all of Cleveland; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Rita Sholl of Woonsocket, RI; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Roger Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
