Nellie (Nanny) Alma Watson Beckler, age 84, of Benton Station Community passed away at her residence Friday afternoon. She was a member of Benton Station Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, her family, church and friends. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening and traveling. She had traveled to all 50 states and Canada, Mexico, South America and Europe. Mrs. Beckler was a former employee of American Uniform, Peerless Woolen Mill, Burlington Industries and retired from Benton Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) and Bertie Cross Watson; husband, Gilbert Beckler; sisters: Nealie Yates, Betty Maupin, Meadie Miller; brothers: Grover Watson and Beacher Watson. She is survived by her children: Wilma Jean Pippenger and husband, Johnny and Bill Cochran and wife, Jeannette all of Benton;grandchildren: LaRonda Cochran, Lisa Miles and husband, John, Billy(Hoss) Cochran and wife, Brandy, John Hoyt Pippenger and wife, Courtney; step grandson and wife, John Barry Pippenger and wife, Becky; great grandchildren: Jessica, Alison and Nattalie Miles, Jonathon Pippenger, Harlie and Chloe Cochran; step great grandchildren: Jason and wife, Nickie Pippenger and Dylan Pippenger; sisters: Mamie Groomes, Joyce and husband, Jimmy Wagner: brothers: Frank and wife, Wanda Watson, Lane(Wad) and wife, Betty Watson, Billy and wife, Joann Watson, Richard and wife, Glenda Watson all of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Benton Station Baptist Church with the Reverend Charles Cheatham and the Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Station Baptist Church Cemetery with John Barry Pippenger, Neal Pippenger, Ed Lawson, Wayne Lawson, Larry Williams and Bob Burchfiel serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service at 2:00 p.m.
