Myles Marvin Guy, 73, of Cleveland, passed away at Blount Memorial Hospital on May 20, 2007 after a year long battle with cancer. He was a 50 year employee of Bell South and a member of Communication Workers of America, the American Legion and the Telephone Pioneers. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was of the Baptist faith. He was the son of the late Richard and Frankie (Scarbrough) Guy and was also preceded in death by brothers, Brawner Guy of Benton, Winston Guy of Etowah, Morris and Hoyt Guy of Cleveland; sisters, Florence Perkins and Retta McClure of Benton. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, China Ruth (George) Guy; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Dennis Jones; grandchildren: Joshua , Matthew and Lynsey Jones all of Knoxville; brothers and sisters: Arnold Guy and Wilma Ogle of Cleveland and Homer Guy of Chicago, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Luther Eslinger officiating. Entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and co-workers of Bell South. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
