Phyllis Ann Wells Taylor, 69, of Charleston and formerly of Canton, North Carolina, passed away at her home on Monday, May 21, 2007. She lived in Charleston for 51 ½ years. She was a member of Council Baptist Church for 40 years. She was a member and officer of Calhoun Chapter # 187 Order of Eastern Star over 30 years. She retired from CPQ, Pro Image in 1999. She devoted her life as a great wife, mother and mother-in-law. She well earned the title of being a wonderful grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by parents Reverend Raymond and Ovialle Wells; brothers Herschell and Tommy Wells; sisters Marie Smith, Grace and brother-in-law, Jay McElrath, Rosalee and Bill Franklin and brothers-in-law Paul Davis, Buck Thompson and Louis Hamby. Survivors include husband, Paul Taylor; son and daughter-in-law, Ernie and Sherrie Taylor of Charleston; grandchildren: Christin Taylor, Lindsey and husband Matt Crackel also of Charleston; two very special great-grandchildren: Titus Torbett and Kailyn Crackel; sister, Maxine Thompson; sister-in-law, Reba Wells and brother-in-law, M.L. Smith all of Charleston; she is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces and dear friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Watson and Miles Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a memorial service conducted by the Calhoun Chapter # 1870. Eastern Star following the visitation.
