Dorotha Frances Breeden Ownby, 83, of Cleveland, passed away at the home of her granddaughter on Thursday, June 14, 2007. She was a very special wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She loved sewing, quilting, cooking and most of all her family. She was of the Baptist faith. She taught Sunday school and played the piano in church before her health problems. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy H. and Sara Elizabeth Johnson Breeden and her sister, Phyllis Breeden. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Watt H. Ownby of Cleveland; two sons and daughter-in-law: Dwight Ownby and Betty of Haleyville, AL and Gary L. Ownby of Cleveland; five grandchildren and spouses: Daron Ownby, Yancy and Jan Ownby, Corey and Kim Ownby all of Alabama, Lisa Ownby Colgan and Keith Lane and Teri Ownby of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Susan Ownby; great-grandchildren: Chase, Kalob, Tanner, Janna, Malley, Kandace and Chandler all of Alabama; Ryan, Madison and Taylor all of Cleveland; sisters and brother-in-law: Barbara Ownby and Faye and John Davis all of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
