Regina Smith Schoate, 48, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007 in a local healthcare facility. She was a graduate of Lee College with a degree in music. She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God. She was a piano instructor with the Academy of Arts of North Cleveland Church of God for the past 18 years. Mrs. Schoate was the daughter of the late Forrest and Virginia Smith. She is survived by her husband, Phillip P. Schoate of Cleveland; two sons: Jesse Schoate and Daniel Schoate both of Cleveland; two brothers: Norman Smith of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Hensel Smith of Tampa, Florida; one sister, Treva Farrabee of Bald Knob, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews and a host of her former students. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the North Cleveland Church of God with Reverend F.J. May, Reverend Robert Sheppard and Reverend Tim McQuitty officiating. Interment will follow in Moore?s Chapel Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and also from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a special fund for the purchase of a piano for the Bryant Fellowship Hall at North Cleveland Church of God in memory of Regina Schoate.
