Michael McKinnis, Sr., 50, of Birchwood, went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, July 21, 2007 due to an accident sustained at work. He loved classic cars and classic music. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He was preceded in death by his father, Scott G. McKinnis, brother, Allan A. McKinnis and nephew, John Garren. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Felicia McKinnis; two sons: Michael D. McKinnis, Jr. and Adam McKinnis; daughters-in-law: Tiffany McKinnis and Britney McKinnis; and mother, Mildred McKinnis, all of Birchwood; brother: Scott McKinnis and wife Kathy McKinnis; sisters: Georgia Trinkner and husband, William Trinkner, Linda Oakley and husband, Jimmy Oakley, and several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Jones Mahaffey, the Reverend Leon Goforth and George Warren officiating. Interment will follow in McInturff Cemetery with Randy Park, David Malone, Jerry Cartwright, Charles Millard, Mark McEver and Steve Minnic serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
