Margaret Rowe Atkins

April 7, 1918 — July 30, 2007

Margaret Rowe Atkins, 89, died peacefully Monday, July 30, 2007 surrounded by her family. She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God where she was a member of the Unity Sunday School Class and the "Peacemakers". She was raised in the Church of God Home for Children and was the oldest surviving member until her home going. Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Max L. Atkins. She is survived by her three daughters and their spouses: JoAn and Max Morris of Cleveland, TN, DeLois Anne Atkins of Charlotte, North Carolina and Maxine and Don Hughes of Cleveland, TN; one son and his spouse: Charles K. (Chuck) Atkins and Susan Atkins of Forest City, North Carolina; grandchildren: Lane and Julie Morris of Knoxville, TN, Marc and Marilen Morris of Manilla, Philippians, Lindsay Atkins of Greenville, South Carolina; three great-grandchildren: Chad Morris, Christopher Morris and Michelle Morris; seven step-grandchildren also survive. A celebration of her life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the North Cleveland Church of God with Reverend Mitch Maloney, Dorothy Roberson and Reverend Marshall Roberson officiating. Interment will be held Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, South Carolina with Lane Morris, Chad Morris, Marc Morris, Christopher Morris, Ray Hughes, Jr. and Don Goff will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Unity Sunday School Class and the Alumni of the Church of God Home for Children.
