Myrtle F. Oaks, 60, a resident of Bradley County, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2007 in a local hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Louise Boatman. She is survived by her companion of 28 years, Doyle E. Vines; daughters: Beverly Greene and husband, Jimmy Greene and Maxine Handy; son, Jimmy Oaks and girlfriend, Marsha Payne all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Misty Greene, Tiffany Greene, Charles Handy and Heather Handy; great grandson, Bryson Kent and one great grandson soon to be; sisters: Betty Bates of Knoxville and Virgie Oaks of Cleveland; brothers: Roger Boatman and Dean Boatman of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews and former mother-in-law, who she cared for deeply, Betty Simpson of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 6, 2007 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Anthony Cameron officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery with Jimmy Greene, Bill Handy, Charles Handy, Donnie Hodge, Shawn Kent and Dustin Bunch serving as pallbearers. Misty Greene, Tiffany Greene and Heather Handy will serve as honorary pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. Her family will receive friends from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
