Carolyn Rodman Schweers

June 16, 1951 — August 9, 2007

Carolyn Rodman Schweers, 56, a resident of Birchwood, passed away Thursday, August 09, 2007 at her residence. She was an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Cleveland, TN, and was also active in the pre-school program and the church chancel choir. She was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America, participated in Relay for Life, and was active in breast cancer support and awareness groups. Mrs. Schweers was the daughter of the late Jack and Mary Rodman of Chattanooga, TN, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Schweers of Cleveland, TN. She is survived by her three children: Rodman Otto Schweers of Cleveland, Gretchen Lynn Schweers of Atlanta, GA and Elisabeth Constance Schweers of Birchwood; three sisters: Marcie Lawley and husband George Lawley of Dayton, TN, Katie Hixon Bonecutter and husband Gary Bonecutter of Columbus, Ohio, Miriam Rodman Humphreys and husband, Dale Humphreys of Chattanooga; one brother, John Robert Rodman, Jr. of Chattanooga; sister-in-law: Patti Schweers Steinmuller and husband David Steinmuller of Bozeman, Montana; 18 nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert Smith and Dr. Robert Haskins officiating. Inurnment will be Monday, August 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens concluding with a white dove release ceremony. Her family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 740, Danbury, CT 06813-9654.
