Jimmie Dule Baxter

Jimmie Dule Baxter, 93, a resident of Old Fort went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 2, 2007. He was a member of Boanerges Missionary Baptist Church in Old Fort. He was retired from Brown Stove Works. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Overby Baxter; parents, Dolph Baxter and Mary Dunn Baxter; brothers and sisters: Fred Baxter, Delmer Baxter, Myrtle Welks, B.H. Baxter and Sible Baxter. He is survived by his children: Ruth Cross and husband Roy of Birchwood, Freda Powell Hawkins and husband, Herman of Old Fort; Donald Baxter and wife, Jeanie of Rossville, GA and Marlene McCoy and husband, Jimmy of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brothers: Bill Baxter of Old Fort and Henry Baxter of Cleveland; sisters: Rosene Goins and Margaret Swallows both of Old Fort, Louise Hogan and Jenna Mae Bartley both of Eton, GA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Hatcher and the Reverend Randall Headrick officiating. Interment will follow in Boanerges Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the funeral home.
