Ernestine Hagler, 85, a resident of Cleveland for the past 53 years, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007 in a local hospital. She was valedictorian of the 1940 senior class of Lyerly High School of Lyerly, Georgia. She retired from Duracell with ten years of service. She was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonora Worsham Woods and Edmund Dee Woods, Sr. of Georgia; her husband, Herman (Buck) Hagler and sisters, Margaret Farr and Belle Barr. Survivors include her son, Scott Hagler of Cleveland; two daughters: Shelia Kimsey and her husband, Buddy of Charleston and Ellen Beck and her husband Dewitt of Benton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Edmund Dee Woods, Jr. of Rossville, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Sammy Hooker officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Reed Wright officiating. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
