J. Louise Boyd, 90, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, passed away Monday, September 10, 2007 at a local hospital. She was a charter member of Valley View Baptist Church where she was active in the church choir. Mrs. Boyd was a former seamstress at Cleveland Chair Company and the Old Cleveland Woolen Mill. She was also employed by Valley View Elementary School Cafeteria. She was best known for her love of cooking for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Paul Boyd, her devoted son, Wayne Boyd; parents, James "Peg" Officer and Della Hickey Officer; brothers: Carl Officer, Gerald Officer, Willard Officer and sister, Edna Baran. She is survived by her granddaughter, Laura Boyd Humble and husband, John and great granddaughter, Madison Humble all of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Wilma Officer; nieces: Joyce Elrod of Cleveland, Hope Officer of Chattanooga and Donna Fagan of Joliet, IL; nephews: Neal Officer, Aaron Officer and Warren Officer all of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2007 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald James and Pastor David Tuten officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with John Humble, Jerry Elrod, Neal Officer, Aaron Officer, Walter "Corky" Scott, Jerry Arms and Larry Dunn serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Noah Officer. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday September 12, 2007 at the funeral home and also from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
