William Austin Lewis

November 10, 1931 — September 21, 2007

William Austin "Bill" Lewis, III, 75, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at the family residence. He was a wonderful husband, loving father and a good friend to all that knew him. He was a member of St. Luke?s Episcopal Church. He was a retired engineer from Maytag and a former instructor in machine technology at Chattanooga State. He was a tool and die make by trade and after retiring he became a master woodcrafter. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Mr. Lewis was the son of the late William Lewis, Jr. and Carolyn Boice Lewis and was also preceded in death by a brother, James Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Helen Marie Lewis of Cleveland; five children and spouses: William Austin Lewis, IV and Romy Lewis of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Brian Scott Lewis and Jennifer Lewis of St. Mary?s, Georgia, Michael Scott Peticolas and Catherine Peticolas of Orlando, Florida, Matthew Allen Peticolas and Amanda Peticolas of Cleveland, TN, and Paul Andrew Peticolas and Jennifer Peticolas of Cleveland, TN; seven grandchildren: Jacob Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Reonna Peticolas, Mikela Peticolas, Ashley Peticolas, Cera Peticolas and Kody Peticolas; one brother and spouse: Tom Lewis and Sylvia Lewis of Granger, Indiana; several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. His family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Luke?s Episcopal Church for the family, 320 Broad Street, Cleveland, Tennessee 37311.
