David Lee Couey

David Lee Couey, 55, a life long resident of Decatur passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Couey and a daughter, Sonya Michelle Couey. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Grissom Couey of Decatur; mother, Carrie Jean Couey of Jacksonville, Florida; two children: Trina Ann Couey of Benton and David Shane Couey of Cleveland; one step son, Eddie Sneed Grissom of Dayton; six grandchildren; three brothers: Donald L. Couey of McDonald, Raymond Dale Couey of Harrison, TN and Michael Ray Couey of Jacksonville, Florida; three sisters: Mary Elizabeth Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida, Robbie D. Harper of Delano, TN and Tinnie Morgan of Harrison, TN; several nieces, nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Cheathem officiating. Interment will follow in Candies Creek Cemetery. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
