Alan Lee Cawood, 63, a resident of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a member of Ooltewah Baptist Church. Mr. Cawood was a former Rotarian and was active in the American Angus Association. He was a salesman by trade working with building materials and automobiles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Maude Lee and Taylor and Charlie Cawood; and father-in-law, Austin Watson. Mr. Cawood is survived by his wife, Carla Watson Cawood of Chattanooga; children: Michael and Donna Cawood of Cleveland, Rhey and Jennifer Houston of Knoxville, Amy and Tracy Rothwell of Dayton and Doug and Heidi Cawood of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren: Lyndsey, Olivia and Nolan Cawood, Wiley Cawood, Noah Houston, Kevin and Matthew Rowell; parents, T.J. Cawood and June Lee Cawood of Cleveland; mother-in-law, Billie Watson of Chattanooga; brother and wife, David and Peggy Cawood; sister and husband, Anita and Bill Bates all of Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law: David and Debbie Watson, Don and Beverly Watson, Sally and Steve Gregg all of Chattanooga and Andy and Sonya Watson of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Gibson and Pastor Tony Deyoung officiating. Interment will follow at the Lee Family section of New Friendship Cemetery with his nephews: David Cawood, Jr., Dustin Cawood, Judson Bates, Richard Bates, Dr. Tracy Bates, Clay Watson, Austin Watson, Dustin Mitchell, Chase Watson, Logan Watson and Don Thomas serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
