Dorlis "Dot" Casson, 75, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday evening, October 7, 2007 at the family residence. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Roe and Rosea Lee Franklin Roe and brothers: Billy Roe, Floyd Roe and Harold Roe. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, C.L. Casson of Cleveland; daughter, Gail Thompson and husband Roger of Cleveland; son, Mickey Casson and wife, Melanie of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Keith Thompson and wife, Angel of Cleveland, Mallory Casson and Lane Casson both of Shelbyville; great grandchildren, Hannah Thompson, Blake Thompson and Mason Thompson; step grandchildren: Chane Finnell and Lucas Finnell; and sister, Edith Bain. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Gail Scoggins and Dr. Ed Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Keith Thompson, Mike Woody, David Ownbey, Ronnie Roe, Billy Trotter and Kenny Howard serving as pallbearers. Lane Casson, Blake Thompson and Mason Thompson will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
