Gregory Ralph Jones

Gregory Ralph Jones, 46, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a fiber optics specialist with Sprint. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1980-1986. He was an honor graduate of the 75th Battalion Airborne Rangers. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Bailey Jones of Cleveland; parents, Ralph James Jones and Corina McKinney Jones; children: Cielito and husband Jason Self, Rachel and Katie; one grandchild, Caden Gregory Self; two sisters: Vicki Jones and Tonya Burke; two brothers: James Jones and Jeff and wife Christian Jones; nephews: Jeremy Jones, Jesse Jones, Aaron Jones and Kobe Jones; nieces: Amelia Burke, Sarah Burke and Kloe Jones; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Don and Carole Bailey. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Allan Lockerman, Reverend Jimmy Parr and Reverend Bill Griffith officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Ralph Brackett, Jeff Burchfiel, Scott Key, Greg Merrell, Larry Davis, Mike Hood, Alex Hooker, Joy Akins, Warren Burke and Junior Brown. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fortwood Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37403.
