Chester Harold Lee Cawood, 78, a life long resident of Bradley County, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in a local hospital. He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. He was retired from Burlington Industries after over twenty years of service. Mr. Cawood was the son of the late Lester Caywood and Ethel Elliott Caywood and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Rutledge Cawood; a sister, Marie Wilson and two brothers, Ray Caywood and J.B. Caywood. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Parris Cawood of Cleveland; one son and spouse: Dale Lee and Deborah Cawood of Cleveland; stepsons: Cecil Dockery, William Dockery, Bobby Parris, Marvin Parris, David Parris and Donald Parris all of Cleveland, Steve Parris and James Dockery both of Calhoun, GA; step daughters, Sybil Dockery of Dalton, GA, Joyce Parris and Jo Huggins both of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Sean Cawood, Brandy Crumbley, Justin Cawood and Casey Cawood; two sisters: Thelma Moore of Cleveland and Dolores Hallmark of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Frank Caywood of Valdosta, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood, Reverend James Hughes and Terry Caywood officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. His family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
