Dan V. O?Neal, 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 2, 2007 in a local hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Adult Three Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II in the South Pacific. He was a self employed building contractor. He was a former Volunteer with the Cleveland Police Public Service Unit. Mr. Neal was the son of the late Daniel Benjamin O?Neal and Maggie A. Goforth O?Neal and was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Georgia Kyle O?Neal of Cleveland; two children and spouses: John D. and Linda O?Neal of Cleveland and Deborah and Dr. Gary Killen of Rome, Georgia; four grandchildren, Tonia Sherrill and husband Jeffrey of Cleveland, Chris O?Neal of Cleveland, Daniel Killen and Ariel Killen both of Rome, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Sherrill, Stella Sherrill and Anna Sherrill; one brother, Ben O?Neal of Cleveland; one sister, Uldine Passmore of Ocoee; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tom Moncrief officiating. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
