Robert E Rongey

Robert Rongey, 64, a resident of Ocoee passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 at the family residence. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciplines of Christ). He retired in the year 2000, after 36 years of service with Maytag Corporation. After his retirement, he worked with his son restoring old cars and gas pumps. Mr. Rongey was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Rongey and Oreta Wilson Rongey. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marianne Rongey of Ocoee ; three children: Robert Rongey, Jr., and fiancé, Wendie and children, of Marion, IL, David Rongey and wife, Stacey of Ocoee and Mark Rongey of Bonaire, GA; four grandchildren: Justin Rongey, Michael Rongey, Jenifer Rongey and Matthew Rongey; three brothers: Charles Rongey and wife, Sandy of Mansfield, IL, Richard Rongey and wife, Gillian and Bryan Rongey and wife, Betsy all of Bloomington, IL and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Karyn Bogert officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery with Todd Fairley, Troy Fairley, Joey Angelone, Lew Walker, Mitch Knox and Jon Oxford serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
