Hiram A. Brumley, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday December 16, 2007 in a local hospital. He was a member of Riceville Church of God. Mr. Brumley retired after 40 years from the Church of God Publishing House. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Airforce in Central Burma. He was a member of Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame and was the Cleveland City Golf Champion for 4 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Brumley and Lucy Alice Brown Brumley; brothers: John Brumley, Duggan Brumley and Leland Brumley; sisters: Sarah Curtis, Lola Burton and May Gobby; and granddaughter, Monica Nicole Brumley. He is survived by his wife, Lindell Brumley of Cleveland; sons: Jerome Brumley of Cleveland, Ledarral Brumley and wife, Dianne of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; sister, Arabell Webb of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Lisa Brumley Bell and husband, Mike, Kriston Brumley, Duff Brumley and wife, Dawn, Todd Brumley and wife, Leah; great grandchildren: Nathan Bell, Laura Bell, Zack Bell, Rachael Bell, Michaela Bell, Justin Brumley, Brook Brumley, Ashlin Brumley, Ethan Brumley, Conner Brumley and Alexis Brumley; step grandchildren, Bill Sims and Holly Torbett; step great grandson, Michael Torbett; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Jesse Cagle officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Mitch Baker, Steve Silverman, Mike Henderson, Mike Bell and Moses Ballew will be serving as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
