James Arthur Siegrist

December 23, 1928 — January 13, 2008

James Arthur Siegrist, 79, a resident of Birchwood, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 in a local hospital. He was a retired self employed architect. He was a member of the Architect Institute of America and was also a member of the Frank Lloyd Wright Fellowship. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War. Mr. Siegrist was the son of the late William Fredrick Siegrist and Julia Levy Siegrist and was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane Bird Siegrist of Birchwood; four children and spouses: Jimmy and Kate Siegrist of Savannah, Georgia, Jeffrey and Mary Siegrist of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Jennifer and Scott Anderson of Knoxville, TN and Janie and Joe Moore of Cleveland, TN; eleven grandchildren: Erik Siegrist of Toronto, Canada, Emily and Nicholas Siegrist of Lancaster, PA, Joseph Siegrist of Brooklyn, NY, Benjamin Siegrist of Washington, D.C., William Siegrist of Bend, Oregon, Mandy Moore- Esplin of Salt Lake City, Utah, Sarah Jo Moore of Cleveland, TN, Dan Moore of Cleveland, TN, Jack Anderson and Andrew Anderson of Knoxville, TN; two great-grandchildren: Connor Moore of Cleveland, TN and Madaline Siegrist of Lancaster, PA; nephew and spouse, William C. and Pam Siegrist of Austin, Texas. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at the East Tennessee State Veteran?s Cemetery with William C. Siegrist officiating. Military Honors will conclude the service. Pallbearers will be Sarah Jo Moore, Joseph Siegrist, Dan Moore, William Siegrist, Benjamin Siegrist and Nicholas Siegrist. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Ark of Cleveland, 2183 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland, Tennessee 37311 or the National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida, 33136-1494.
