Robert "Bob" Denver Compton, 58, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, January 28, 2008 at the family residence. He was of the Baptist faith. He was employed with Charter Communications for 31 years. He was a veteran of the United States Airforce. Mr. Compton was the son of the late James Compton and Ruth Hartley Compton. He is survived by his wife, Janet Carroel Harper Compton of Cleveland; two children: Chenequa "Nikki" Moore of Cleveland and Clinton Clint Howard and wife Jessica of Charleston; four grandchildren: Jessica and Maranda Berry of Cleveland and Katie and Allie Howard of Charleston; one sister: Jeanette Hoskins and husband, Terry Hoskins of Priceville, Alabama; two brothers: Jimmy Compton and wife Sharon Compton of Huntsville, Alabama and Tommy Compton and wife Janet Compton of Decatur, Alabama; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Dudley Nichols officiating. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be his brothers-in-law and nephews. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the funeral home.
