Eddie Lamar Cox, 62, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church and was a graduate of Bradley Central High School Class of 1963. He was employed with Magic Chef/Maytag for 40 years. He was an avid car enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Cox; mother, Dorothy Cox Pickett; sister, Anita Whitted and a brother, Douglas Cox. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Yvonne Cox of Cleveland; two sons and daughter-in-law: Ray and Julie Cox and Eddie Dean Cox all of Cleveland; one grandson, Logan Cox of Cleveland; four siblings and spouses: Judy and James Reagan, Ennis and Sandy Hawkins, Barbara Smith and Peggy and Eric Gordon all of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Vaughn and Pastor Huel Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Chester Kessler, James Reagan, Ralph Whitted, John Whitted, Larry Ownbey, Shane Castelow and Bryan Dixon.
