Avriel Shelton

Avriel Shelton, 76, a resident of Ocoee, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in a local hospital. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mrs. Shelton was the daughter of the late Loyd Martin and Ida Patterson Martin and was also preceded in death by her brother, Lex Martin; four sisters: Iva Lou McCulley, Ottis Allen, Arlene Hardman and Lora Belle Crisp. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Walter Shelton of Ocoee; two children: Bruce Shelton and wife Dawn Shelton of Chicago, Illinois and Joann Spann of Otto, North Carolina; three grandchildren Lamar Spann, Belinda O?Neal, Jason Spann; three sisters: Annie Carrianger and Ethel Crisp and Helen Cearly all of Murphy, North Carolina; three brothers: Dewey Martin of Turtletown, TN, J.D. Martin and Howard Martin both of Macon, Georgia; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Kenziel Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
