Shirley Dean Grissom, 65, a life long resident of Georgetown, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 in a Meigs County healthcare facility. She attended the Burdette Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Ora Crisp and Blossie Farris Crisp and was also preceded in death by her son, Craig Grisom; step son, Dale Grissom; siblings: Betty Crisp, Margie Grissom, Ann Crisp, Dee Crisp and Mack Crisp. She is survived by her ex-husband, Jackie "J.C." Cleo Grissom of Decatur; children: Gary Grissom of Georgetown, Jerry Grissom and wife Kathy of Decatur and step son, Mark Grissom of Decatur; two grandchildren: Brittany Nicole Chetham of Chattanooga and Allie Daniel Grissom of Decatur; seven sisters: Carrie Covey of Jacksonville, Alabama, Ethel Rogers of Birchwood, Linda Nation, Katherine Ramsey and Barbara Grissom all of Georgetown, Patsy Guthrie of Cleveland and Christine Nation of Etowah; three brothers: Wade Crisp of Cleveland and Bill Crisp both of Cleveland and Tony Crisp of Georgetown; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Brother William Nation officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Meigs County with Dale Covey, Donald Covey, Shane Moses, Tommy Patterson, Lee Nation and Edward Nation serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the funeral home.
