Paul W Underwood

Paul W. Underwood, 88, a resident of Cleveland since 1947, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 in a local hospital. He was a member of West Cleveland Baptist Church. Mr. Underwood was employed at Cleveland State Community College for 15 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II in Europe where he served in the 4th Infantry Division. He was a member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in by his parents, H.L. and Nora Vickers Underwood; sister, Edna Ledford; and brothers: Lewis Underwood and Ray Underwood. He is survived by his wife of 62 ½ years, Mary Curbow Underwood of Cleveland; son, Paul Underwood and wife, Kathy of Ailey, GA, one grandson, Michael Underwood of Ailey, GA and two sisters: Carrie Bates of McDonald and Maudie Stinnett of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 Sunday, March 2, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. His family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the funeral home.
