Martha E Peters

Martha E. Peters, 84, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She was a member of Revival Church of God in Apison. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Peters; parents, Albert F. Miller and Isadore Miller. She is survived by her children: Linda Jane Smith and husband, James L. Smith of Harrison, Joyce A. Oswalt and husband, William R. Oswalt of Rome, GA, Barbara E Sawyer and husband Lyle Sawyer of Georgetown, Glenda Faye Mier and Tony R. Mier, Jr. of Cohutta, GA and Mary Darlene Smith and Jerry W. Smith of Dalton, GA;14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Mary Louise Beene of Chattanooga; brother, Gilbert Ray Miller of Ringgold, GA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday March 26, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Jenkins officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Michael Wilson, Mitchell Gill, Michael Oswalt, Steven Dycus, Lee Sawyer, Jason Young, Matt Roberts and Logan Sawyer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Wilson, Joel Clayton, Blake Oswalt, Brandon Oswalt, Troy Dycus and Justin Lankford. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
