Carolyn Melton Cassidy

Carolyn Melton Cassidy, 63, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008 at the family residence. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Ms. Cassidy graduated from Bradley Central High School in the Class of 1962 and was a graduate of Baroness Erlanger Nursing School. She was a retired registered nurse and employed by Bradley Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Shearlin; parents, George D. Melton and Dorothy Bennett Melton. She is survived by 3 children: Jimmy Cassidy and Dan Cassidy both of Murfreesboro and Jennifer Cassidy of Cleveland; 5 grandchildren: Alex Cassidy, Sydney Cassidy, Sam Cassidy, Chris Cassidy and Nikki Yarworth; 1 sister, Evelyn Visage of Cleveland; 2 brothers: Rev. Sam Melton of Old Fort and George S. Melton of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews and 2 special pets, Jake and Oreo. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
