Marlin Odery Peels

Marlin Odery Peels, 71, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, April 04, 2008 in a Chattanooga hospital. He attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from Hardwood Frames of America. Mr. Peels was the son of the late Lester and Ellen Peels and was also preceded in death by his wife Wanda Fay Peels; one son, Arlin Peels; brother, Bud Peels and sister, Mae Allen. Survivors include his children and spouses: Kenneth and Rose Peels of Cleveland, Freddie and Debbie Peels of Cleveland, Loretta and Donald Burgiss of Charleston and Melissa and Bobby Gaylor of Cleveland; ten grandchildren: Josh Peels, Brittany Mullinax, Whitney Burgiss, Felicia Akins, Mikayla Burgiss, Justin Peels, Nick Peels, Amanda Peels, Chris Gaylor and Lauren Gaylor; great-grandchildren: Cody Peels, Mariah Peels, Savannah Peels, Lexi Burgiss and Aidan Peels; three sisters: Mazel Sloan of Tellico, Christine McDaniel of Madisonville and Alice Davis of Akron, Ohio; six brothers: Marshall Peels, Raymond Peels, Claymond Peels all of Madisonville,Clarence Peels and Ronnie Peels both of Cumming, Georgia and Willis Peels of Alpharetta, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Hood and Freddie Peels officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Whitney Burgiss, Chris Gaylor, Nick Peels, Justin Peels, Ray Peels and David McDaniel. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the funeral home and also from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008 prior to the service.
