Mildred Louise Bowman, a life long resident of the Ooltewah area, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of the Lakeway Baptist Church. Mrs. Bowman was the daughter of the late Hardy Davis and Anna Mae Cranfield Davis and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Bowman; daughter, Lisa Adkins; sister, Evelyn Bowman and brother, Harold Davis. Survivors include her five daughters: Jimmie Branham of Cleveland, Brenda Suttles of Georgetown, Patricia Worley of Birchwood, Karen Owsley of Ooltewah and Christy Bowman of Ooltewah; son, Dennis Bowman of Ooltewah; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Hardy Davis, Jr. of Ooltewah; five sisters: Jewell Brackett of Ooltewah, Diane Farris of Birchwood, Linda Buckner, Phyllis Johnson and Darlene Ramsey all of Ooltewah; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Ernest Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in the New McDonald Cemetery in Snow Hill with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and also from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
