Earl Wayne Mowery

June 5, 1923 — May 14, 2008

Earl Wayne Mowery "Buddy" of Delano, TN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, May 14, 2008 at his home with his family by his side. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Delano. He retired from Magic Chef of Cleveland and was a well known beef and poultry farmer. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret Ray Mowery; parents Nat Landon and Erma Geren Mowery; two sons Billy Mowery and James Mowery; one grandson, Samuel Mowery and two brothers Tom Mowery and Lynn Mowery. Survivors include his daughter Charlotte Steele; daughter-in-law Lorene Baker "Dinky" Mowery; four grandchildren and spouses: Emanuel and JoAnn Mowery, Beth and Wayne Brady, Jr. of Cleveland, Burt Stanley, Jr. of Calhoun and Lori and David Firestone of Delano; three great-grandchildren: Emma and Audrey Firestone of Delano and Nathan Mathews of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home of Etowah with Reverend W.L. Shipman, Barry Purser and Jack Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Candies Creek Cemetery with David Firestone, Wayne Brady, Jr., Charles Sayne, Claude Bradford, Bill McCracken and Chris Clark serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the funeral home.
