Blanche McConnell Cartwright

Blanche McConnell Cartwright, 96, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, June 05, 2008 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church. Mrs. Cartwright was the daughter of the late Leander C. Whaley and Mary King Whaley and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Jess McConnell and Willard Cartwright; her daughter, Marie Jones; her son, J.W. McConnell; and her granddaughter Linda Wooten McConnell. She is survived by one son and daughters-in-law: Paul McConnell and Vivian McConnell and Patsy McConnell all of Cleveland; seven grandchildren: Mike McConnell and Kirk McConnell both of Cleveland, Steve McConnell of Atlanta, GA, Paul D. McConnell, Marsha Wallace, Donna Haney and Libby Bookout all of Cleveland; sister, Jewel Collins of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
