Gordon E Turner

Gordon E. Turner, Jr., 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. He was a professional painter for Ed Allen Construction Company for forty years. He was a member of the Ocoee Masonic Lodge # 396 F&AM for fifty years and the Eastern Star # 420. Mr. Turner was a member of the Woodman of the World for over sixty years and was a former member of Taylors Ruritan Club. Mr. Turner was the son of the late Gordon Everett Turner, Sr. and Bertie Carroll Turner and was also preceded in death by his sisters: Lela Davis and Edna Dye; his brothers: Warren Turner, Clyde Turner, Melvin Turner and Lee Turner. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Louise Goins Turner of Cleveland; one daughter, Jo Ann Watson and husband, Bill Watson of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Lebanon Baptist Church with Pastor Richard McKeehan, Reverend Charles Foushee and Reverend Keith Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Aaron Kinser, Brad Kinser, Keith Watson, Tommy Raines, Steve Goins, Randy Goins, Richard Watson and Lane Watson serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and also 1-2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the church prior to the service.
