Lang Franklin Ball, 81, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at a Chattanooga hospital. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a Navy WWII veteran, local farmer, retired from TVA, and a member of the Asbestos Workers Local 46 of Knoxville. His passion was being outdoors and on the water. He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Aimer Sandidge Ball. Survivors include his wife Devada Hall Ball; two children, Diana Ball Calfee and Elang Ball Holden both of Cleveland; five grandchildren, Bryan and Dana Holden of Athens, Jeff Holden of Cleveland, Jennifer and Nathan Lents of Chattsworth, Georgia, Tyke Calfee of Cleveland, and Shelby Calfee of Cleveland; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Milton Hall and wife Ida of Louisville, Kentucky; 2 sisters-in-law Carolyne Beatty and Gala Coile both of Cleveland; and other extended family members that he loved very much. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 28, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Drew Henry and Reverend Lu Crandall officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Springs Cemetery. Bryan Holden, Jeff Holden, Mitchell Holden, Terry Calfee, Tyke Calfee, and Nathan Lents will serve as pallbearers. Ronnie Ball, Gene Cox, and Garry Ball will serve as honorary pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5 to 9 P.M. Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
