Candie Pauline Umberger, 45, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on the morning of August 1, 2008, in a local hospital. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Shelby Frye and was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Wilson, her aunt, Gayle Loveless, and her grandparents, Thomas and Mildred Little. At the time of her passing, she was employed by Bradley-Cleveland Developmental Services where she worked with and enjoyed caring for challenged youths. Survivors include her daughter, Jessica Umberger, her grandson Jeffrey Umberger-Dooley, her brother, Keith Umberger, her sisters, Sharon Long, and Millie Trammell, her nephew, Stephen Long, and nieces Alison Long and Katelyn Umberger, all of Cleveland. She is also survived by her aunts and family, Debbie and Randy Maddox, Shirley and Elmer Roach, Judy and Mike Bouton, Janice Lambert, and an uncle, Thomas and Wendy Little, and many loved cousins, all of Elizabethton and Johnson City, TN. Also surviving is very special family George and Lynn Wyatt and Jessie Shugart of Calhoun and very special friend Joanie McFarland of Cleveland. The funeral will be held Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Ellis and Eugene Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Tasso United Methodist Cemetery with nephew Stephen Long, friends Tyler Dooley, Shane Ware, Jerry Ellis, Charles Hudson, Winston Wright, Eugene Hensley, and Richie Tankersley serving as pallbearers.
