Lucy Graham

April 12, 1920 — August 2, 2008

Lucy B. Graham, 88, a resident of Charleston, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 at her home. She was a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church. She was a seamstress instructor for Cleveland Chair Company for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jefferson Wooden and Myrtle Boles Wooden. She was also preceded by her husband James S. Graham and three sisters, Ethel Taylor, Thelma Bates, and Tommie Gibson. She is survived by two children, Sherman Graham of Charleston and Sandra Hooper and husband Jimmy of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Susan Vernon and husband Chris, Richard Graham, Doug Graham and wife Heather, Jonathan Hooper and wife Laurel, Christopher Hooper, Rachael Baum and husband Brad all of Cleveland; four great-grandchildren, Victoria Vernon, Emily Graham, Daisy Graham, and Wyatt Graham; brother T. J. Wooden and wife Wilma of Charleston; and sister Elizabeth Moore of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Dr. Reed Wright and Pastor Jamison Work officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with grandsons and grandsons-in-law serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be T. J. Wooden, Bennie Atchley, Murel Graham, Harold Graham, and Jerry Graham. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Candies Creek Baptist Church, 294 Old Eureka Rd NW, Charleston, Tennessee, 37310.
